RAVE: FHM Bikini Pool Party

I got invited at Manila Ocean Park for RAVE: FHM bikini pool party on the 23rd of October.  I was really excited about it for two reasons:  I got the ticket for free and because I’ve never seen an FHM event before. Though I’m not a fan of the magazine, I had a clear idea about what the highlight of RAVE is – women flaunting their unbelievable bodies on their most attractive bikinis which would certainly leave the male audience drooling and frenzy on their seats.

I’ve read some issues of the magazine in the past (Special thanks to my brother who is an avid fan!). And I remember laughing hard while reading the article which features real stories of people who had nasty experiences with their sex life.  Personally, I think it’s really a must read for those who want to get rid of the stress piling up (Works for me when I’m fed up with medical books!).

Anyway, when I saw the actual ticket, there are other artists listed in the line-up who would be performing on that night to add more spice to the event: EB Babes, (group that replaced sex-bomb dancers from Eat Bulaga) Kitty Girls, Mossimo Band, Wendy Valdez (Season 2 PBB housemate) and Tanya Markova.

Honestly, the only artists I knew were Wendy Valdes and EB Babes. The rest are unfamiliar to me.

RAVE started off with a Musical Fountain show at the open field swimming pool of Manila Ocean Park which used an impressive technology that shoots torrent of water up high from little pumps that create an animated show mid-air.

We had to put on our raincoats (provided by Manila Ocean Park) to avoid being drenched from the fountain’s spray.

At the end of the Musical fountain show, I felt a drizzle from the clouds but no rain could stop those eye-popping bikini models of FHM from conquering the stage and making the male audience and photographers from going feral with excitement.

After the appearance of FHM models, there was an obvious drop of energy from the male crowd but EB BABES started walking from the sides and the adrenaline rose once again . They undoubtedly caught everyone’s attention -including the girlfriends and wives- with their bone breaking performance.
Kitty Girls performed after and gave a different kind of entertainment with their night-club song’s which surely made the audience singing along with them.

But of course Manila Ocean Park surely knows how to save the best for last, when Wendy Valdez, 3rd Big Placer of PBB Season 2, showed up and made the male audience roared with joy.

She looked unusually covered when she stepped up on the stage but it turns out it was nothing but a teaser. She took off her baggy shirt which revealed her cat-woman outfit (at least that’s what it looks for me) and the guys literally started bouncing off their seats. You can really feel the passion they had for FHM models.

One funny experience I would never forget is while I was seated comfortably on my chair as I watch the guys go GAGA for her to throw the shirt in their direction and I heard a guy, who is just one row below me, pleaded so desperately on his seat to catch Wendy's shirt.

She performed Bad Romance of Lady Gaga and another song which I can't remember, lol. In all fairness, the girl knows how to sing. She has a good quality of voice and sounded really clear. I hope one day I could see her perform in ASAP.

Oh! I just googled her and found out that she auditioned for Pinoy Dream Academy - Philippine version of Endemol's Operación Triunfo (Operation Triumph- in 2006, which probably explains why she sang really well. lol

After Wendy's performance, the two host from a radio program presided to announce the winners of the car race show which apparently happened hours before the party. I took off from the open field and went straight to Liquid-bar’s after-party.

Situated at the center of the Liquid bar, the pool stretched wide and long from its entrance. If you really want to live the meaning of Liquid bar, you would probably want to enjoy swimming while unwinding with your drink. However, if you are more of a hot spring person like me, there is a Jacuzzi next to the pool which is big enough to accommodate more than 10 people. The warm water of the Jacuzzi doesn’t just eliminate stress but it also promotes good blood circulation in our body by dilating our blood vessels.

This is purely based from my keen observation but I noticed that unlike any bars I had visited before, the atmosphere of Liquid Bar, which btw will officially open on the 28th of October, was really soothing and cozy.

I'm also no expert when it comes to interior designing but I can say as much that the lights on the ceiling of the bar really complimented the whole place.

Liquid bar just exudes a warm welcoming emotion you often feel when you enter Starbucks. I think this is one of the good things about the place:  Its being able to unwind while relishing the atmosphere with liquor instead of coffee.

And if you get intoxicated too much, Manila Ocean Park always has a room in their hotel waiting for you until you’re sober (of course the room is not for free)

I didn't stay long enough to see how the party ended but because everyone is entitled with two liquid stubs, I'm definitely sure everyone had a great time (who wouldn't when you are at ocean park right?).

xoxo
