Shui (shway) Hilot Spa

To those who want to lose weight and stay healthy, I suggest you sign up for a yoga class at Shui, pronounced as "shway", Hilot Spa. At first I thought anyone could do it but performing  all of those body bending stretches and balancing, I realized that its not as easy as I see it in TV.
Halfway of the 1 hour yoga class, I was literally dripping with my own sweat. Its really surprising how much I perspired without getting out from my improvised yoga mat. At the end of the class, I just felt really light and contented. I knew yoga is the workout for me.
I've never worked out before. In fact, I try to avoid going to a fitness gym with friends as much as I could. Since my body structure is naturally slender, I thought it was just a waste of time. The only regular exercise I have is when I play with my consoles and when I clean the house. Although I knew being thin is not synonymous to being healthy, I just had no intention of giving an effort to stretch the lazy muscles of my body.
When I see people in TV doing all of those impossible sit ups and crazy exercises, my willpower hits rock bottom. But my first yoga class yesterday defied all of those negative misconceptions - it gave me a new hope and perspective. The stretches were so addicting I can't help but do each and everyone of it. In fact, even as a novice, I challenged myself to do those stretches with a different set of difficulty. Combined with the most relaxing background nature music and a homely ambience which compliments the tatami-like room, you sure would find yourself in unity with your core, heart and soul.

Yoga indeed is a really enriching experience not only for your physical body but to that which that cannot be seen by the naked eye. It practice your mind to focus at one thing which strengthens your intention. Yoga proves to be an exercise which is both healthy and graceful, though it didn't spare me from the awkwardness every newbie experiences in their first class. The first 15 minutes were a struggle. I quickly forget the steps I need to follow and completely lost all my balance. But after doing the same thing repeatedly, you'll find yourself like a bamboo swaying with the wind. Still, I think I looked more of a cement post than bamboo (lol).
Everyone looked determined and focus with each movement of their muscles. The intention was so contagious I felt in sync with all of them.
Our Yoga guru is just awesome. She makes it look so easy to bend and stretch your body. Her flexibility was both inspiring and cool. If I didn't know her profession, I would have thought she's a contortionist.
I'm really looking forward to my next yoga class. Hopefully on my second visit, I would be more graceful and flexible. I took my yoga class at Shui Hilot Spa located at G/F Tropical Palms Bldg.,Perea St.,Dela Rosa St., Legaspi Village,Makati.
Happy Yoga!
xoxo
